Who We Are

Blackmon Counseling Services is a mental and behavioral health therapy and counseling service provider based in Chicago, Illinois. We cater to clients grappling with personal issues such as depression, anxiety, or substance abuse. Aside from individual counseling, we also offer marriage, family, and couples counseling.

How We Started

Mr. Blackmon states that he has found himself offering advice and trying to do problem solving for family and friends for most of his life. What Drives Us

Our goal is to help people overcome their struggles by discussing their problems, stories, and relationships. One of my goals is to motivate people to take the actions that will help them make the desired difference in their lives. I am a Motivational Counselor..  If you can find a big enough "why" to do something - we can figure out the "how"

Meet the Owner

As a licensed clinical professional counselor, Willie Blackmon aims to help each client nurture self-awareness and become empowered. Our culture has built us to find reasons to fall short and question ourselves. We find no shortage of things that cause us pain and grief.

In his practice, Willie prefers to work with “clients” and not on “patients”. Willie believes that all of us are mentally able and capable of reaching our potential. Therefore, he bases his approach on motivational counseling, which involves treatment plans tailored to each clients’ needs. Clients move from where they are to where they choose to be, discovering their own abilities and strengths along the way.

What to Expect

During the initial phone consultation, clients are able to discuss their reasons for seeking therapy.  Followed by in office, in person  conversations. While the clients’ needs dictate the direction of each session, at its end, they will have a firm grasp of the next steps to take.

Moving forward typically includes homework assignments that will help clients become more aware of their own perspectives. They will then be told the date for the next scheduled meeting.
